Privacy policy

Last updated 12 September 2026 · Applies to Powernotch 1.0.1 and later. Powernotch 1.0 collected nothing at all and had no network access.

Powernotch has no analytics, no crash reporting and no account. It asks for access to Bluetooth to read the battery levels of your accessories. The only thing that ever leaves your Mac is the record of your in-app purchase, so that Pro stays unlocked and can be restored.

Data collected

No usage data. Powernotch does not collect usage data or analytics, does not use crash reporting, and contains no advertising identifiers, tracking frameworks or cookies. There is no account and no sign-up, so the app never asks for your name, your email address or your Apple Account.

The one exception is purchases. When you start the trial, buy Pro or restore a purchase, purchase data is processed as described under Purchases below. Nothing else leaves your Mac.

What the app reads on your Mac

To do its job, Powernotch reads the following information from macOS, locally on your Mac:

The battery level, charging state and estimated remaining time of the Mac it runs on.
The battery level, charging state and device name of accessories paired with your Mac, such as a Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, AirPods, headphones and controllers.

This information is only used to display it on your screen and, if you enable it, to show a low-battery notification. It is never sent anywhere and is not written to disk, except for your own settings, which are stored in the app's sandbox container on your Mac.

Network access

Powernotch connects to the internet for one purpose only: to check or restore your purchase. Those requests go to Apple and to RevenueCat, the service that records the purchase. They happen when the app starts and when you come back to it, because it re-checks whether Pro is still unlocked, and when you start the trial, buy Pro or choose Restore Purchase.

The app makes no other network requests. Battery levels, device names and your settings are never sent anywhere.

Permissions

Bluetooth, required by macOS to read the battery level of wireless accessories. macOS asks for it once, at first launch.
Notifications, optional, only if you turn on low-battery alerts.

Both can be revoked at any time in System Settings. Powernotch does not request Accessibility, Screen Recording, location, contacts, camera or microphone access.

Purchases

Powernotch is free to download. The 7-day trial of Pro and the one-time Pro unlock are both in-app purchases.

Every purchase is made through the Mac App Store. Apple handles all payment details, which Powernotch never sees: not your card, not your billing address, not your Apple Account.

To know whether Pro is unlocked, Powernotch uses RevenueCat, Inc., a company in the United States, as its in-app purchase processor. RevenueCat records the purchase and confirms to the app whether Pro is active. What is sent to RevenueCat is:

The App Store transaction, which is the proof of purchase Apple issues.
A randomly generated anonymous app user identifier, created on your Mac the first time the app runs.
Basic device and app metadata, such as country, platform and app version.

This is not linked to a name, an email address or an Apple Account, and Monto bleu cannot use it to identify you. It exists for one reason: so that Pro stays unlocked and so that you can restore it on your other Macs.

Because RevenueCat is based in the United States, that purchase data is processed there.

Data processors

Two companies receive anything at all from the app, and only in connection with a purchase:

Apple sells the app and the in-app purchases through the Mac App Store and handles the payment. Apple privacy policy.
RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) records the purchase and confirms whether Pro is unlocked. RevenueCat privacy policy.

This website

This policy is about the app. The website montobleu.com uses Clicky, a web analytics service, to count visits and see which pages are read. That data is aggregated visitor statistics and is not linked to anything you do in the app.

Children

Powernotch asks no one for personal data, including children. The purchase data described above contains no name, no email address and no age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date. Powernotch 1.0 collected nothing at all and had no network access. Version 1.0.1 added RevenueCat as the in-app purchase processor, which is why this policy now describes purchase data.
